Camping last weekend with our Sunday School class

Hunting for small fish and tadpoles, the boys caught over 70 critters in all. It made for a great day of fun. The weather was beautiful.

Stephen's technique for catching the tadpoles and minnows was pretty effective.

Sam is on the way to walk to the bus stop. He went in to tell Kyle goodbye. You can see that Sam is eating a store-bought honeybun for his breakfast. Momma doesn't cook breakfast. Sorry, Martha Stewart.

Easter 2008

Yesterday...

Sam spent Friday night at his best friend's house. They spent the day getting muddy and catching tadpoles. We now have some of the amphibians in our garage in a bucket. We had to go back to the ditch where they got them to get more water for the bucket. We don't want to kill them you see. Dick and I drove down this dirt road at 8:30 PM to find the very same ditch. We shined the headlights of the truck so Sam could collect the water. So far this morning, Sam assures me that we haven't lost any. Sam looked on the internet last night to see what to feed them. I guess our goal is to keep them until they are grown up frogs. Sam has always loved animals. When he was four, he told us that he was going to be a zookeeper.

This morning...

I woke up this morning to the sweetest thing. My alarm woke me up, and I was going to wake up Sam for school. I found him already dressed for school and in Kyle's room. The two of them had set their alarms early and were reading the Bible together. It was the most precious thing to hear Sam reading the bible out loud. It really touched me.They really have become good friends, and we are so proud of all three of our boys. This is a picture of Kyle and Sam at the beach last year.

Happy 21st Anniversary!

Today is Karen and Kent's anniversary. This is a recent picture of them when they went to Hawaii last month. Happy Anniversary.

Matthew's dog Lucy

I just received this picture from my brother, Matthew. It is a picture he took with his IPhone of his sweet dog, Lucy. (I got to get one of those IPhones. They take nice pictures, have a map program, internet, etc) I just love the way the light hits her fur. Matthew is on a temporary leave from his job in NYC, teaching an acting class at Virginia Tech. He and Lucy are living in a hotel for the next month. She is such a sweet dog, and now she has made the "big time" by being the first animal I have highlighted in my blog!

We opened up the paper Sunday before church, and found this in the sports section. It was fun to see Kyle in the paper. Great job Kyle!
