Update on Aunt Dottie

Many of you have asked about my aunt Dottie who had her right leg amputatedabove the knee last week. My family and I appreciate your prayers for her so much. She was sent back to the nursing home on 5/9. According to my brother, she is physically fine, looked much better. My cousin Jane is still with her for one more week. Last night, Matthew talked to her and she's back in her own room. She sounds much better, speech clear and she seemed more lucid. Please pray that she will be able to face the emotional/functional problems that the surgery has left her with. She is very probably discouraged and distraught as anyone would be with losing a leg at 89 years old. Thanks in advance for your prayers. Here is a picture of Dottie and Matthew this past Feb.

A day with mixed emotions

My aunt Dottie, that is my mom's 89 year old sister, is having her leg amputated today. Matthew and I had a great visit with her in February. We took her out of the nursing home for short trips to restaurants and a drive in the country. My cousin, Jane, is with her in Quincy, IL. Please pray for Dottie's comfort, we all love her so much. Here is a picture of the two of us a few months ago.
This morning I took the national certification test for oncology nursing. It was nerve wracking, but the 6 months I spent studying paid off. I passed!!!!!!!!!!

Nate performs at local mall

Last Saturday, Nate was asked to play/sing during a health fair at our local mall. He did a great job. He is very, very talented and we are so proud of him. These pictures are from that mini concert.

Sam checks out the massage chair in front of where Nate was playing.

Nate sang and played guitar in front of our Sears store.

Here is a picture of Dick sitting down with Nate's friends and listening to the music.

Here is the star of the show!!!!

Here is a picture of Tina and Nate after the concert. It was alot of fun to hear him. He loves music.
